The beachfront view was amazing, and the staff's warmth. Although the bar was noisy and the hot water was limited, the overall atmosphere was good. It's a solid spot for a peaceful retreat, with minor setbacks that didn’t overshadow the lovely vibe.

Perfectly clean hotel, and outstanding food selection!!!
Great way to end our trip. Possibly the best and amazing stay on vacation. A nice size and fairly quiet room plus an individual safe, climate control, and a sitting area. The bed, which was great. Excellent staff onsite😀🙂

We had an amazing week in a spacious Superior Family Suite where our kids loved the pool and the beach bar was a hit! The access to sun loungers and the chance. Just wish there were more breakfast options to choose from, but overall, it was a fantastic getaway 🏖️

Comfortable room, good breakfast, toast, and fruit. A nice location right on the beach with access to sun loungers and umbrellas.
Nothing to be said.

We were very disappointed with our recent stay at Playa Canek. Whilst the location on Tulum Beach Road is perfect, our one week stay at Playa Canek was not. The room was extremely basic and somewhat small for 4 people. Due to an incident with a cockroach we had to pull both double beds out and it would seem that the back of the beds and walls haven't been cleaned for some time. The bathroom was damp and smelt of mould. Despite our room allegedly being cleaned the floor still felt tacky and dirty. The reception did not have 24 hour cover and even when it was open it was difficult finding someone to assist. When you did eventually find someone to assist the service was very poor. We visited four places during our trip to Mexico and the service was generally of a very high standard with the exception of Playa Canek. Requesting clean beach towels even seemed to be a problem. The bar wasn't always managed and my friend was told she would need to wait 20 minutes for a bottle of water which isn't ideal when you're laying in the hot sun. We also waited over 50 minutes for the one breakfast we had during our stay. We decided to use other beach clubs and paid additional fees for doing so. On the day of check out, we were running 15 minutes behind schedule. We were then put under pressure to get out of the room despite the fact that we had received no service at all and had to wait an excessive amount of time for the basic things requested. The photos online portray a very different picture to the reality of the room we were given.

Beautiful beach access provided a lovely view.
Our experience was marred by numerous issues. The air conditioning only worked during limited hours, leaving us sweltering during the day. The breakfast was a joke, consisting of hardly anything worth mentioning. The noise from the generator was annoying, and the staff seemed less than helpful when it came to resolving these problems.

The room was reasonably large with a/c, had a good night's sleep. A great selection of food for breakfast, which was good to satisfy everyone.

The staff was cute and were very good, even securing our forgotten beach bag. Snorkeling at the nearby cenotes was amazing, and our family unit was spacious for everyone.
In my wife's opinion, the staircases were not very child-friendly.

Location: the hotel was close enough to a great beach bar and free sun beds, all restaurants in Tulum Beach and nice bars and restaurants. The room was a nice size and fairly quiet, with great bed and a shower and bath sheets in the bathroom.

missingWrote a review on 04 Augparking hassle
Limited car parking is a hassle, often resulting in scratches if not careful. Air conditioning only operates from 7 PM to 7 AM means tough, sweaty mornings, and the dirty sheets require a backup sleeping bag liner. Breakfast portions are small, with only one scrambled egg and a minimal amount of fruit served. The cleaning of the room, including stained linens and dirty floors, doesn't meet basic expectations. The steep stairs to the restaurant could limit accessibility for some guests, especially considering they're adjacent to a noisy power generator. While the place has its charm, several aspects was nice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful beach access and relaxing lounge areas, easy for me to enjoy the scenery and socialize. The staff were great.
More accessible seating options would be beneficial.

A hidden gem by the beach
The serene beach access was just steps away from my cozy Garden Queen Room. Especially Marcael, treated me like family.
Parking was a bit cumbersome, requiring a $300mxn daily fee, and breakfast was limited to just a scrambled egg, fruit, and coffee. Some variety would improve the overall experience.

Request earplugs or a white noise machine if you're sensitive to sounds at night for a more restful sleep.
